Nicole Ikeda Cossi
Nikki is a Honolulu-based soprano who was recently selected as 2026 Emerging Artist in Jennifer Rowley's Aria Bootcamp. In addition to her performing career, Cossi serves as Adjunct Faculty in Voice at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, teaches piano and musicianship at Renee's Music Studio, and maintains a private voice studio in Mānoa.
About
Cossi has appeared as a soloist with the Hawaiʻi Vocal Arts Ensemble and UH Chamber Singers, with concert engagements including Handel's Messiah, Fauré's Requiem, Schubert's Mass in G, and the soprano solo in Tracy Wong's Jauh-Dekat. Recent chamber music performances include Lori Laitman's I Never Saw Another Butterfly, presented in collaboration with composer and clarinetist Marcus Moore.
Her operatic performances include the trio from Mozart's Così fan tutte alongside acclaimed American baritone Andrew Garland, ensemble appearances in La Bohème with Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre, and frequent recital performances through the Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre Studio.
In musical theatre, Cossi has appeared in several revue productions and performed in the ensemble of Brigadoon with the award-winning Pacific Opera Theatre. She made her leading-role debut as the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods with ʻOhana Arts.
Cossi earned a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where she held a Graduate Assistantship and received support from the Orvis Foundation. Prior, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Her honors include First Place in the NATS California Capital Chapter Competition and an Honorary Mention from the Stockton Opera Guild Competition.
